An 18-year-old man allegedly died by suicide at his home in Thane’s Mumbra area after a heated argument with his girlfriend over a phone call, police said on Sunday. The tragic incident occurred on Friday in Amrut Nagar. According to an official from the Mumbra police station, the deceased was speaking to his girlfriend when the conversation took a turn for the worse. Following the argument, he allegedly hanged himself. His family discovered him unresponsive and immediately alerted authorities, as per a report by Mid-Day. The body was sent for a postmortem at a government hospital, and police have registered a case of accidental death.
In an unrelated case, a 30-year-old techie from Uttar Pradesh’s Agra reportedly died by suicide late in February, blaming his wife for pushing him to take the extreme step. The deceased, who worked as a manager at Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), got married in January last year. As per the complaint filed by his father, he was allegedly insulted at his in-laws’ home. Frustrated and mentally distressed, he recorded a suicide statement before hanging himself.
