Veteran Nationalist Congress Party (Sharadchandra Pawar) leader Sharad Pawar has indicated that efforts to strengthen opposition unity at the national level are gathering momentum, expressing confidence that a common strategy and consensus formula could soon emerge among parties opposed to the BJP-led government.
Speaking in Baramati, Pawar said that political parties which do not accept the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi are increasingly finding common ground and working towards a coordinated approach ahead of future political battles.
Opposition Parties Moving Closer
Highlighting ongoing discussions among opposition leaders, Pawar said, “National parties in the country are beginning to come together. The BJP and its government are under the leadership of Narendra Modi. On the other hand, those who do not accept this leadership have come together.”
He added that senior leaders and influential political figures would be brought into the conversation to help shape a broader roadmap for cooperation.
Consensus Formula Expected
Pawar expressed optimism about the outcome of the current round of talks, suggesting that flexibility from all sides would be key to achieving a workable arrangement.
“We will invite prominent figures and find a way forward. I am confident that a solution will be found. A formula will be proposed at today’s meeting, suggesting that no one should be overly rigid in their stance,” he said.
The remarks come amid renewed efforts by opposition parties to build a united front and avoid divisions that could weaken their electoral prospects.
Supriya Sule Representing NCP at Key Meeting
Pawar also confirmed that senior party leader and Member of Parliament Supriya Sule is participating in the discussions on behalf of the Nationalist Congress Party.
“Supriya Sule is attending this meeting representing the Nationalist Congress Party. After that, we will sit down in Delhi and work out a path forward,” Pawar stated.
Delhi Discussions Likely Next Step
According to Pawar, the current consultations are expected to be followed by further deliberations in Delhi, where opposition leaders will attempt to translate broad agreement into a concrete political strategy.
