Bollywood superstars Shah Rukh Khan, Ajay Devgn, and Tiger Shroff have landed in legal trouble over their association with Vimal Pan Masala advertisements. The district consumer disputes redressal forum in Jaipur has issued notices to the actors, along with the chairman of JB Industries, the manufacturer of Vimal Gutkha, summoning them to appear before the forum on March 19.
The legal action follows a complaint filed by Jaipur resident Yogendra Singh Badiyal, who alleged that the advertisement misleads consumers by claiming that each grain of the pan masala contains saffron. The tagline of the ad, “Dane dane mein hai kesar ka dum” (each grain has the strength of saffron), is at the center of the controversy.
The consumer forum, led by chairperson Gyarsilal Meena and member Hemlata Agarwal, has taken cognizance of the matter and ordered the actors and the company representative to present their case.
