Mumbai: Salman Khan has decided to delay the release of the teaser for his highly anticipated film Sikandar, which was initially set to drop on Friday, December 27, coinciding with the actor’s 59th birthday. The postponement follows the sad demise of India’s former Prime Minister, Manmohan Singh, who passed away on December 26.
In an official statement, the makers of Sikandar expressed their respect and condolences: “In light of the passing of our esteemed former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh Ji, we regret to announce that the release of the Sikandar teaser has been postponed to 28th December, 11:07 AM. Our thoughts are with the nation during this time of mourning. Thank you for understanding.”
The central government has declared a seven-day period of national mourning to honor the late Prime Minister, who passed away at the age of 92.
The teaser, directed by AR Murugadoss and produced by Sajid Nadiadwala, will now be released on Saturday, December 28 — a day after Salman’s birthday. Sikandar, an action thriller, promises to offer a gripping mix of action, drama, and emotion, though its plot details remain largely under wraps.
