Silvassa: The Union Territory of Diu, Daman, and Dadra Nagar Haveli comprises two Lok Sabha constituencies and is known for its scenic beauty and growing tourism, situated along the borders of Maharashtra and Gujarat. Republican Party of India (RPI) National President and Union Minister of State for Social Justice and Empowerment, Ramdas Athawale, expressed confidence that an RPI candidate will definitely win from this region in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.

Addressing a gathering of party workers at the Central Hall in Silvassa, Athawale urged RPI workers in the Union Territory to strengthen the party’s grassroots network, work for the welfare of all communities, and win the trust of the people. “If we build an inclusive and strong organisation, taking along people from all castes and religions, victory in the next Lok Sabha elections is certain,” he said.

Also present at the event were Mrs. Seema Athawale, wife of Shri Ramdas Athawale; Vinod Jethwa, President of RPI’s Diu, Daman & Dadra Nagar Haveli unit; Ashokkumar Bhatti, RPI Gujarat President; Jatin Bhatti, Gujarat In-Charge; along with party leaders and activists.

On this occasion, Athawale announced the appointment of young and popular leader Deep Shah as the Working President of RPI for Dadra Nagar Haveli, Diu, and Daman. He also declared Jatin Bhatti as the party’s in-charge for the Union Territory.

Highlighting the demographics of the region, Athawale stated that these constituencies are home to large populations of Dalits, Adivasis, and OBCs. With the region’s growing industrial and tourism sectors, it presents a significant opportunity for inclusive development.

He invoked the ideals of Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar, who envisioned the Republican Party as a broad-based, inclusive platform for all communities. “Though Dr. Ambedkar was born in the Dalit community, he worked for the upliftment of all castes and religions, and his gift of the Constitution is a guiding light for our nation,” said Athawale.

Calling upon all RPI workers to work tirelessly from this day forward, Athawale urged them to follow Ambedkar’s principles and ensure the Republican Party’s victory in both Lok Sabha constituencies of Diu, Daman, and Dadra Nagar Haveli in the upcoming general elections.
