Patna: Union Minister Kiren Rijiju on Friday launched a scathing attack on Congress leader Rahul Gandhi while addressing a major digital governance event at the Bihar Vidhan Sabha, accusing him of political desperation and theatrics as the Congress faces an uncertain future.

Speaking at the inauguration of the e-Vidhan system in Bihar, Rijiju congratulated all MLAs for adopting a fully digital legislative process and said the move reflects how Indian democracy is rapidly modernising under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership. He stressed that the entire functioning of the Bihar Assembly will now move towards paperless, transparent, and technology-driven governance.

However, the Union Minister did not stop at governance reforms. Taking direct aim at Rahul Gandhi, Rijiju said the Congress leader appears unsettled and anxious as his party sees diminishing chances of returning to power. According to Rijiju, this political frustration explains why Rahul Gandhi frequently resorts to dramatic statements and public performances to remain in the spotlight.

“Rahul Gandhi is rattled because he knows his party is not going to get another opportunity to form the government,” Rijiju remarked. “That is why he keeps doing drama and delivering dialogues here and there just to stay relevant in the news cycle.”

Rijiju contrasted what he called the Congress leadership’s politics of spectacle with the BJP-led government’s focus on governance and reforms. He asserted that India has decisively moved forward under Prime Minister Modi, leaving behind outdated political narratives and ineffective leadership.
