Mumbai: The Mahayuti alliance on Friday announced its official candidates for the top posts in the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC). BJP leader Ritu Tawde has been named the alliance’s nominee for the post of Mayor, while Shiv Sena leader Sanjay Shankar Ghadi has been selected as the candidate for Deputy Mayor.
The announcement signals a coordinated power-sharing arrangement within the Mahayuti, which includes the BJP and Shiv Sena, as the alliance looks to strengthen its control over Mumbai’s civic administration. Party leaders said the decision reflects consensus among alliance partners and aims to ensure stable leadership at the country’s richest municipal body.
