Mumbai: NCP-SP MLA Rohit Pawar on Saturday said that uncertainty and unanswered concerns continue to surround the tragic death of senior leader Ajit Pawar, who lost his life in a plane crash on January 28. He announced that these concerns will be formally presented during a press conference scheduled to be held in Mumbai on February 10.
Speaking to reporters, Rohit Pawar said doubts about the incident are being widely discussed across different sections of society, including aviation and technical experts. He said the family and party leaders also share similar concerns and are seeking clarity on the circumstances that led to the fatal crash.
According to Pawar, discussions with pilots, aviation specialists, journalists, and independent researchers have revealed multiple unanswered questions. He said the upcoming press interaction in Mumbai will aim to put these issues forward in a structured manner, with the hope that clear and factual explanations will emerge.
“The questions that exist are not limited to one group. Experts from various fields have expressed doubts, and we too feel that several aspects need proper explanation,” he said, adding that the February 10 event may include a detailed presentation along with the press briefing.
Earlier in the day, Rohit Pawar participated in the Pune Zilla Parishad–Panchayat Samiti elections, casting his vote at a Zilla Parishad school in Pimpalgaon village in Baramati. Local body elections are currently underway in 12 districts across Maharashtra.
After voting, Pawar spoke emotionally about his late uncle, recalling Ajit Pawar’s strong connection with grassroots politics. He said Ajit Pawar was deeply involved in election campaigns and consistently worked to strengthen party workers at the ground level.
“He always wanted his karyakartas to succeed and see them elected to positions of responsibility,” Pawar said. “I have voted today with the hope that his vision for his party, workers, and constituency continues to be fulfilled.”
Rohit Pawar also clarified that the family has consciously kept political discussions aside during the mourning period. He said no political deliberations have taken place within the family over the past several days and that this pause will continue for a few more days as a mark of respect.
