Revanth Reddy Expands Telangana Cabinet, Inducts Three Ministers to Boost Social, Regional Balance

Hyderabad: In a significant political move, Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy inducted three new ministers into his cabinet on Sunday, marking the first expansion of his government since taking office in December 2023. The swearing-in ceremony took place at Raj Bhavan, Hyderabad, in the presence of Governor Jishnu Dev Varma, senior Congress leaders, legislators, and top officials.

The newly inducted ministers include:

  • G Vivek Venkata Swamy (Chennur – SC, Mala)
  • Adluri Laxman Kumar (Dharmapuri – SC, Madiga)
  • Vakiti Srihari (Makthal – BC, Muduraj)

Their inclusion takes the total number of ministers in the Revanth Reddy cabinet to 12, leaving six berths still vacant.

All three ministers come from socially under-represented communities, with Vivek and Laxman representing Scheduled Castes and Srihari hailing from a Backward Class (BC) background. Political observers believe the move is aimed at strengthening caste and regional representation, as the government eyes further appointments to solidify its social coalition.

Chief Minister Revanth Reddy congratulated the new ministers through a post on X (formerly Twitter) and also extended greetings to Dornakal MLA Ramchander Naik on his elevation as Deputy Speaker of the Assembly.
