Nearly one and a half weeks after the Bharatiya Janata Party’s victory in the Delhi Assembly election on February 8, the party announced on Wednesday that Rekha Gupta will be the next Chief Minister of Delhi. Gupta was elected as the leader of the Delhi BJP Legislature Party during a meeting held at the state office on 14 Pant Marg.
The BJP high command appointed former Union Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad and OP Dhankar as central observers to oversee the election of the Legislature Party leader. Gupta, a senior BJP leader and lawyer by profession, emerged as the unanimous choice for the role.
