Recovery of war-like stores in joint operation by Kupwara police and Indian Army in Kupwara

Srinagar: In a major breakthrough, the Kupwara Police, in cooperation with the 47 Rashtriya Rifles (RR) of the Indian Army, recovered a significant cache of war-like stores during a joint Search and Destroy Operation (SADO) in the Kandi forest area of Kupwara district recently.

The recovered items include one machine gun, seven assorted hand grenades, 90 loose rounds of ammunition, a Chinese-made binocular, two solar mobile chargers, and various clothing items including a sleeping bag of foreign origin. A large quantity of Pakistan-manufactured medicines was also found at the site.

An FIR has been registered under relevant sections of law, and a detailed investigation has been initiated.

This successful operation underscores the commitment of the security forces to maintaining peace and stability in the region by proactively identifying and eliminating potential threats before they pose a risk to public safety.
