Raj Thackeray revives MNS outsiders plank in Dombivli, says because of migrants cities are decaying

Mumbai: Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) president Raj Thackeray on Tuesday once again revived his pet subject of outsiders accusing them of being responsible for the decaying of our cities. Addressing an election rally in Dombivli here, he argued that the maximum influx of these outsider migrants is in Thane district and in cities like Dombivli. He said that these migrants when they arrive here they feel happy at finding the place resembling their native places. (indicating that they are happy at finding the same situation of their native places here).

Arguing that Dombivli produced the most Chartered Accountants in the state, he wanted to know as to why then the city never did an audit of its crumbling civic infrastructure. Thackeray wanted to know as to why Dombivlikar’s never questioned their elected representatives over the urban decay around them.

The MNS chief’s remarks have brought back memories of his party cadres beating up North Indian community youths at Kalyan in 2008, who had come to appear for the Railway Recruitment Board (RRB) exams. It may be recalled that the MNS chief had also objected to the north Indian community performing Chhat Puja on the beaches of Mumbai. Or the more recent beating up of north Indian community taxi drivers in Dadar and at the Mumbai airport.

Taking a dig at the educated citizenry of Dombivli, the MNS chief remarked that the Dombivli has earned the sobriquet of being decaying city of the educated. Thackeray wanted to know why the people never questioned Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis over his promise of allocating Rs 6,500 crore to make Kalyan-Dombivli into smart cities during his civic poll campaign. He wondered why the people were silent over the fatalities caused by potholed roads and argued that his plea for making MNS a strong opposition was meant to raise peoples voice in the state legislature.

Referring to the educated Dombivlikar’s migrating abroad and how his own friends teenaged son wanted to migrate abroad, the MNS chief claimed that the young commercial pilot (Amol Yadav) who showcased his proto-type commercial plane at Make in India show, finally chose to migrate to US as they understood his caliber. Referring to Dombivli as being the stronghold of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) which has been doing years of selfless service, the MNS chief without naming the BJP-Sena remarked that the present day rulers cared less about the plight of the people as they have taken for granted that the people will vote them back to power.
