Pune district collector, Dr Rajesh Deshmukh all set to chase Covid 19 by implementing ‘My Family, My Responsibility’

Mumbai: With a view to curb the Coronavirus disease (COVID-19) cases, which have again increasing rapidly in the state, to chase away the deadly Coronavirus, Maharashtra chief minister, Uddhav Thackeray led government has announced a new campaign ‘My Family, My Responsibility’ to the control the COVID19 completely. From Tuesday, a team of health workers will go door to door twice a day to check each and every member of the families in all villages, cities in Maharashtra in the next 30 days to check the health of all members of the families.

This campaign is named as ‘My Family, My Responsibility’, which is being implemented across Maharashtra state.

Pune District Collector, Dr Rajesh Deshmukh has appealed to local politicians, NGO’s, and citizens as well, to actively participate and cooperate to curb the spread of the disease.

The three pronged approaches states by the scheme are:
1) Practice social distancing, maintain at least two meters of physical distance’
2) Usage of mask regularly
3) One should sanitize and wash hands vigorously

“Investigation will be carried out in all the gram panchayats and municipal areas of the district in phases. The purpose of this investigation is to spread awareness by educating every citizen about Covid-19 as well as to immediately identify the suspects and start treatment on them as soon as possible, to reduce the mortality rate in the district”, Dr Deshmukh said.

Mayor Murlidhar Mohol appealed to all citizens of Pune to take full participation in this campaign. “A health team will be formed for door-to-door visits in this campaign. The delegates will consist of a total of three staff consisting of two volunteers (one male and one female). They will visit about 50 houses daily to check the temperature of all the members of the families for any symptoms of COVID”, he said.

Deshmukh also appealed to citizens stating that care should be taken while visiting shops, offices, and also while doing any necessary work. “I’ve directed the health department to provide timely treatment to the COVID patients and we will try to reduce the mortality rate in the district by following the ‘treatment protocol’ as per the guidelines of the health department”, he informed.
