New Delhi: Congress MP Priyanka Gandhi Vadra on Thursday criticised the recently signed India–US trade agreement, claiming it could negatively impact farmers across the country. She also extended support to labour unions participating in a nationwide strike against government policies.

Speaking to reporters, Priyanka alleged that the trade arrangement would put additional pressure on the agricultural sector. “This agreement is likely to hurt farmers and weaken their economic security,” she said, adding that concerns raised by farming communities must be addressed transparently.

The Congress leader expressed solidarity with trade unions observing a countrywide protest. “Workers are on strike today over policies they believe are unfair. We stand with them in their fight for rights and protection,” she stated.

Responding to questions regarding legal actions and FIRs filed against Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi in recent months, Priyanka dismissed their impact. “They may register cases or attempt to create pressure, but none of this is going to affect Rahul Gandhi,” she said, asserting that he would continue to raise public issues.
