Patna: Jan Suraj Party chief Prashant Kishore’s health has rapidly deteriorated while he continues his hunger strike at home, demanding the cancellation of the Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC) exam following allegations of a question paper leak. His condition worsened on Tuesday, a day after he was granted unconditional bail following his arrest during his protest.

Kishore, who had been observing a fast-unto-death since January 2, was arrested by police on Monday morning after he was removed from his protest site at Gandhi Maidan in Patna. The protest, which was held near a restricted area, was deemed illegal by authorities. Kishore had been protesting against the alleged question paper leak in the 70th Combined Preliminary Exam conducted by BPSC on December 13.

After his arrest, Kishore was taken to Patna AIIMS for a medical examination. However, his supporters have accused security personnel of manhandling and slapping him during the arrest. Patna District Magistrate (DM) Chandrashekhar Singh confirmed that Kishore and his supporters were detained while protesting at Gandhi Maidan.

Despite his declining health, Kishore remains adamant about continuing his fast and has vowed not to end it until the BPSC exam is canceled. The hunger strike is part of a broader movement demanding justice for the students who claim to have been affected by the alleged paper leak.

On Monday, Kishore was granted unconditional bail after being sent to judicial custody for 14 days. His arrest has sparked widespread outrage, with many of his supporters accusing the government of trying to silence his protest due to the growing unity Kishore has fostered among the masses.
