Mumbai: In a strongly worded statement on social media, Vanchit Bahujan Aghadi’s (VBA) President and a prominent political leader, Adv Prakash Ambedkar has urged the Indian government to intensify its response to Pakistan following the recent Pahalgam terror attacks. Ambedkar commended the Indian Armed Forces for their swift and focused counterstrikes on nine terrorist camps located in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir (PoJK).

“The response from our forces was measured, non-escalatory, and precise,” he wrote on X (formerly Twitter), adding that Indian operations had deliberately avoided targeting Pakistani military installations. However, he criticised Pakistan for resorting to unprovoked cross-border shelling in the Poonch sector, which resulted in the tragic deaths of 16 Indian civilians, including five children and three women.

Ambedkar said those killed in the shelling should be recognised as martyrs and their families must be provided with adequate compensation. “Their sacrifice should not go unacknowledged,” he added.

He also slammed Pakistan for spreading disinformation on social media, particularly claims of having shot down an Indian Air Force Rafale jet. “India must expose these lies and false narratives aimed at misleading the public and demoralising our forces,” Ambedkar asserted.

Calling Pakistan the “axis of evil,” the veteran leader said the global community must now work to diplomatically and economically isolate Pakistan for its continued sponsorship of terrorism. “India must take the lead in rallying regional and global partners to expose and marginalise Pakistan for harbouring and supporting terror outfits,” he said.

Concluding his message with a note of resolve, Ambedkar warned that any further provocation from Pakistan must be met with a strong and decisive response. “If Pakistan escalates the situation, India should not hesitate to hit back hard,” he declared.

“Bharat Jindabad,” he signed off.
