Mumbai: Polling at the Balmohan Vidyamandir voting centre was temporarily interrupted after a technical issue surfaced in one of the Electronic Voting Machines during voting hours. Several voters reported that the button linked to candidate Vishakha Raut failed to register their votes despite repeated attempts.

Acting on the complaints, election officials immediately suspended voting at the booth to prevent any irregularity. The disruption lasted for around 20 minutes while technical staff examined the machine. After confirming a malfunction, authorities promptly replaced the EVM and resumed polling.

Deepak Sane, an election coordinator representing the Shiv Sena (UBT), acknowledged the incident and said the matter was brought to the notice of officials without delay. Election authorities maintained that corrective steps were taken swiftly to ensure transparency and to safeguard the voting process.
