“PM Must Answer, Bullet and Ball Can’t Go Together”: Congress MP Pramod Tiwari on Operation Sindoor

New Delhi: Congress MP Pramod Tiwari, speaking in Parliament on Tuesday, took a strong stance on the Centre’s handling of Operation Sindoor, demanding accountability from Prime Minister Narendra Modi and questioning the continuation of cricket diplomacy amid national security concerns.

“I will not take names, but let me be clear — there are no contradictions within the Congress regarding Operation Sindoor or any other issue. Our line is clear: the Prime Minister should take responsibility,” Tiwari said.

Referring to the recent violence in Pahalgam that claimed 26 lives, Tiwari asked, “Who is responsible for these deaths? Under what conditions did we retreat? The nation has a right to know.”

He also questioned the government’s silence on former U.S. President Donald Trump’s repeated claims, saying, “Trump has made that claim 28 times. The PM must clarify whether it’s true or not.”

Slamming the continuation of cricket engagements, Tiwari said, “A bullet and a ball cannot go together. The nation’s sentiment is not in favour of cricket at the moment. The people of India want PoK to be part of our map — not sporting ties.”
