Udupi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi paid a historic visit to Sri Krishna Matha in Udupi, participating in the Laksha Kantha Gita Parayana programme, where thousands of devotees recited the Bhagavad Gita in unison.
During the visit, the Prime Minister inaugurated the Suvarna Teertha Mantapa, a newly constructed structure in front of the Krishna sanctum, and dedicated the Kanaka Kavacha, a golden covering for the Kanakana Kindi—a revered window through which saint Kanakadasa is believed to have had divine darshan of Lord Krishna.
Established over 800 years ago by Sri Madhvacharya, the founder of the Dvaita Vedanta philosophy, Sri Krishna Matha continues to be a prominent center for spiritual learning and devotional activities. PM Modi lauded the Matha’s role in promoting spiritual heritage and cultural unity in Karnataka.
