Mumbai: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday inaugurated several major initiatives and investment MoUs during the India Maritime Week 2025 held at NESCO Grounds, Goregaon, Mumbai. The event brought together top industry leaders, policymakers, and global stakeholders for the Maritime Leaders’ Conclave, focusing on India’s future in the global maritime ecosystem.
PM Modi’s participation underscored his government’s commitment to transforming India’s maritime sector through innovation, investment, and sustainable development. The initiatives launched are part of the Maritime Amrit Kaal Vision 2047, a long-term roadmap to make India a global maritime power.
According to an official statement from the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO), the vision is anchored on four strategic pillars — port-led development, shipping and shipbuilding, seamless logistics, and maritime skill-building. Together, these pillars aim to enhance infrastructure, create employment, boost exports, and ensure India’s leadership in the Indo-Pacific maritime domain.
