PM Modi Tells Young India to Lead the Viksit Bharat Mission with Discipline, Confidence and Purpose

New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday delivered a strong message to India’s younger generation, urging them to take ownership of the country’s future and play a decisive role in shaping a developed nation. Speaking at a national event commemorating Veer Bal Diwas, the Prime Minister expressed deep confidence in the potential of Gen-Z and the emerging Gen-Alpha, calling them the driving force behind India’s long-term growth.

Highlighting the expanding opportunities across technology, education, sports, innovation and entrepreneurship, PM Modi said today’s youth are better placed than any previous generation to turn ambition into achievement. He emphasised that age should never be seen as a limitation, noting that history has shown how impactful change can be driven even by the very young.

The Prime Minister cautioned youngsters against being distracted by fleeting fame and instant recognition, urging them instead to stay focused on meaningful goals. He said true success lies in contributing to national progress rather than personal glory, and encouraged youth to draw inspiration from great figures who dedicated their lives to building the nation.

Reflecting on India’s transformation over the last decade, PM Modi said the country has moved beyond a phase where pessimism and uncertainty once dominated public life. He remarked that earlier systems discouraged ambition, leaving young people hesitant to dream big. In contrast, he said, today’s India actively recognises talent and creates platforms for growth, backed by the collective strength of a population of 1.4 billion.

The Prime Minister underlined the role of government initiatives such as Digital India, Startup India, and Khelo India in opening new pathways for learning, innovation and excellence. He pointed out that access to technology, online resources and institutional support has empowered youth to explore fields ranging from science and startups to sports and creative industries.

Drawing inspiration from the sacrifice and courage of the Sahibzadas, PM Modi urged young Indians to pursue the right path with determination, regardless of difficulties. He said courage, clarity of purpose and self-belief are essential qualities for national progress, and India’s future depends on how its children and youth shape their own futures.

He also highlighted educational reforms, including Atal Tinkering Labs and the National Education Policy, saying these initiatives are nurturing curiosity, research and innovation among students. Exposure to emerging technologies like artificial intelligence, robotics and sustainable design, along with education in the mother tongue, is helping students learn more effectively and think creatively.
