Patna: Prime Minister Narendra Modi praised the progress of Bihar’s education system, reflecting on the challenges faced two to two-and-a-half decades ago and highlighting efforts to modernize industrial training institutions across India.
“This generation may not fully realize how devastated the education system in Bihar was two to two-and-a-half decades ago… Fortunately, the people of Bihar entrusted the government to Nitish Kumar, and we have all witnessed how the entire NDA team worked together to bring the broken system back on track. Today, in this program, we are also witnessing a glimpse of that progress,” PM Modi said.
Addressing the development of Industrial Training Institutes (ITIs), the Prime Minister stated, “Our ITIs are not only excellent institutions for industrial education, but they are also the workshop of an Atmanirbhar Bharat. That is why our focus is not only on increasing their number but also on continuously upgrading them.”
Under the PM Setu Scheme, Modi announced that ITIs will be modernized with new and advanced machinery. Training experts from the industry will be brought in, and the curriculum will be upgraded to meet current and future industrial demands.
“The goal is to ensure that our youth are skilled, employable, and equipped to contribute effectively to India’s vision of self-reliance,” he added.
