PM Modi Congratulates Samrat Choudhary as Bihar CM, Calls His Leadership Key to State’s Growth

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday congratulated Samrat Choudhary after he took oath as the Chief Minister of Bihar, marking a historic political shift in the state.

Taking to X, PM Modi praised Choudhary’s leadership qualities and expressed confidence in his ability to drive Bihar’s development.

“Heartiest congratulations and best wishes to Shri Samrat Choudhary on taking oath as the Chief Minister of Bihar! His energy, dedication to public service, and grassroots experience will prove extremely beneficial for the state,” Modi said.

“I am fully confident that under his capable leadership, while fulfilling the aspirations of the people, Bihar will touch new heights of all-round development,” he added.

Historic Moment as BJP Gets Its First CM in Bihar

Earlier in the day, Samrat Choudhary scripted history by becoming the first Chief Minister from the Bharatiya Janata Party in Bihar. The oath ceremony was held at Raj Bhavan, where Governor Syed Ata Hasnain administered the oath of office.

The event was attended by senior BJP leaders and alliance partners, marking the beginning of a new political chapter in the state.

Deputy Chief Ministers Also Sworn In

Alongside Choudhary, senior Janata Dal (United) leaders Bijendra Prasad Yadav and Vijay Kumar Chaudhary were sworn in as Deputy Chief Ministers as part of the new government formation.

Their inclusion reflects a balance of experience and continuity within the ruling alliance.

BJP Expands Its National Footprint

With Choudhary’s elevation, the BJP has further strengthened its position across the country. The party now governs or leads governments in states that together account for nearly 65–67% of India’s population, highlighting its expanding political dominance.
