Delhi: In a major push to strengthen India’s global trade presence, Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced that the Union Cabinet has approved the Export Promotion Mission (EPM) — a landmark initiative aimed at boosting the country’s export competitiveness and enhancing the global reach of Indian products.
The new mission seeks to empower MSMEs, first-time exporters, and labour-intensive sectors, ensuring that India’s export ecosystem becomes more robust and inclusive. “Ensuring ‘Made in India’ resonates even louder in the world market!” PM Modi said while emphasizing the government’s commitment to positioning India as a leading export-driven economy.
The EPM will bring together key stakeholders — including government agencies, industry bodies, exporters, and state governments — to build a coordinated, outcome-based framework that focuses on measurable results. The initiative will also streamline export facilitation, improve logistics, and strengthen trade infrastructure to make Indian products more competitive globally.
