New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday lauded the successful completion of the Maha Kumbh in Prayagraj, calling it a symbol of unity and awakened national consciousness. In a heartfelt blog post, he credited the Centre, state government, and the people of Prayagraj for their dedication in serving millions of devotees at the grand spiritual gathering, which occurs once every 144 years.

“Maha Kumbh is over, but now India must unite for the Maha Yagya of Viksit Bharat,” Modi declared, urging the nation to channel the spirit of the Kumbh into a greater mission for national progress.

Reflecting on the extraordinary energy of the festival, Modi likened it to India breaking free from centuries of colonial mindset, embracing a new era of self-confidence and patriotism. He highlighted the unparalleled faith of 140 crore Indians, comparing the event to a divine confluence where gods, saints, elders, women, and youth came together as one nation.

Drawing historical parallels, the Prime Minister recalled the sacred land of Shringverpur, near Prayagraj, where Lord Ram met Nishadraj, calling it a timeless example of devotion and harmony.

The 45-day-long Maha Kumbh, which saw an unprecedented wave of devotees rushing for a holy dip at the Sangam of Ganga, Yamuna, and Saraswati, has also gained global recognition as an unmatched logistical and management marvel. Modi emphasized that modern policy and management experts could study this event, as no other festival in the world compares to its scale and seamless organization.
