Director Addresses Debate Over Janhvi Kapoor’s Role
The debate surrounding Janhvi Kapoor’s portrayal in Peddi continues to generate discussion, with director Buchi Babu Sana now acknowledging that some scenes in the film may have been interpreted differently than intended.
The filmmaker broke his silence after criticism emerged from sections of viewers who questioned the presentation of the actress’s character. While the controversy has dominated social media conversations, Janhvi Kapoor herself has not publicly commented on the issue.
“A Few Shots Turned Misleading”
Responding to the criticism, Buchi Babu Sana admitted that certain visual portions of the film did not convey the intended message.
“In my opinion, a lot of people misread Janhvi Kapoor’s track as unnecessary in an otherwise good story.”
He further acknowledged that some scenes created an unintended impression.
“In this process, a few shots turned misleading. We have taken corrective measures to remove them, and we have removed them.”
The statement marks the clearest acknowledgment yet from the film’s team regarding the controversy.
Director Explains Creative Approach
Explaining his storytelling choices, the director said the film’s lead character was intentionally written as someone shaped by a rugged rural environment. According to him, the narrative was designed to showcase the protagonist’s flaws and evolution rather than glorify questionable behaviour.
He maintained that the character’s journey was meant to reflect personal growth and changing perspectives over the course of the story.
Viral Social Media Claims Add To Debate
The controversy gained further momentum after screenshots allegedly showing private conversations linked to Janhvi Kapoor began circulating online.
The unverified messages purportedly suggested concerns about how certain scenes were being filmed and portrayed. The screenshots also contained references to actor Ram Charan, who was allegedly described positively for supporting concerns regarding camera angles.
However, there has been no official confirmation that the messages originated from Janhvi Kapoor, and their authenticity remains unverified.
