Jammu & Kashmir: Social media influencer Orhan Awatramani, popularly known as Orry, has been booked by the Jammu and Kashmir Police for consuming alcohol at a hotel in Katra, the base camp of Mata Vaishno Devi shrine. Seven others, including a Russian national, have also been named in the FIR for violating local regulations and hurting religious sentiments.
The accused have been identified as Orry, Darshan Singh, Parth Raina, Ritick Singh, Rashi Dutta, Rakshita Bhogal, Shagun Kohli, and Russian national Anastasila Arzamaskina. According to reports, the group was found consuming alcohol inside a hotel in Katra, where the District Magistrate’s orders prohibit alcohol and non-vegetarian food to uphold the shrine’s sanctity.
A case has been registered against them at the Katra police station, and legal action is underway. The incident has sparked outrage among devotees, with many demanding strict enforcement of religious norms.
