Srinagar: Former Jammu and Kashmir chief minister and People’s Democratic Party (PDP) chief Mehbooba Mufti on Saturday said we will continue to fight for restoration of Article 370 and the rights of the people of Jammu and Kashmir.
Speaking to newspersons here at Kupwara, Mehbooba Mufti while welcoming Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s announcement to repeal the three farm laws, which were at the centre of protests by farmers for the past year said that we don’t have enough parliament seats like Uttarakhand, Punjab but the idea of struggle for restoration of rights of people of Jammu and Kashmir will continue to guide party’s steps in the future as well.
The PDP chief said that if the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) led government took 70 years to scrap Article 370 in Jammu and Kashmir, we will also fight maybe it will take us 70 years, 70 months or 70 days but we will fight politically, legally to strive for strengthening bonds of brotherhood among people and bringing about overall development in the region.
Replying to questions over the “Hyderpora incident”, Mehbooba said that J&K Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha should took responsibility of this incident as he is supposed to provide safety and security to the people but when such episodes happen it indicates the coming time will be very hard for the people.
