Patna: Newly sworn-in Chief Minister Nitish Kumar has reiterated his vision of transforming Bihar into one of India’s most developed states, moments after taking oath for an unprecedented tenth term in office. Addressing the gathering in Patna, Kumar said the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) government would work “with full sincerity” in coordination with the Centre to deliver on its commitments.
The ceremony, held with high-level political attendance, saw Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah, and chief ministers from several states joining to congratulate the JDU leader. Kumar expressed gratitude to all dignitaries for marking the occasion with their presence.
In a post on X, the Chief Minister wrote, “I extend my heartfelt thanks and gratitude to the esteemed Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi ji for gracing the oath-taking ceremony today… I warmly welcome the honorable Union Home Minister Shri Amit Shah ji, the Chief Ministers from various states, Union Ministers, distinguished guests and special invitees.”
Reaffirming his development agenda, Kumar added that the NDA government would move forward with “collective resolve,” saying, “With the cooperation and blessings of the people of Bihar, we will include Bihar in the category of the most developed states in the country.”
Nitish Kumar, who has already spent nearly 19 years as Chief Minister across multiple terms, remains one of India’s longest-serving state leaders.
