Mumbai: The Tata Mumbai Marathon (TMM) 2025, marking its 20th edition, has raised ₹43 crores to date for social causes, with fundraising continuing until February 5. Over 13,000 runners are supporting various initiatives through this platform, which has redefined health, fitness, and philanthropy in India.
Organized in partnership with United Way Mumbai, the event has become the nation’s largest sporting platform for philanthropy, raising over ₹470 crores since inception for 740 NGOs with the support of 600 corporates.
Key Highlights:
• 13,000 Runners for Charity: A record number of participants are supporting causes like health, education, gender equality, and environmental sustainability.
• Top Fundraisers: Six individuals raised over ₹1 crore each, including Dr. Bijal Mehta, who collected ₹1.5 crores for Shrimad Rajchandra Love and Care, supporting rural education and animal welfare.
• Corporate Participation: HDFC Bank led with 1,500 runners, emphasizing corporate social responsibility through employee engagement.
• Youth Contributions: Mihaan Gandhi Dhall, a 20-year-old with Down Syndrome, raised ₹6 lakhs for disability inclusion, while 16-year-old Shaurya Banga raised ₹30 lakhs for the OSCAR Foundation.
• Environmental Impact: ₹36 lakh raised under the TMM Green Bib initiative will fund the planting of 5,672 trees in Solapur, benefitting farmers like Yuvraj Patil.
