New Year 2026: President Murmu, PM Modi and Union Ministers Extend Wishes of Peace, Progress and Prosperity

Delhi: As India steps into 2026, President Droupadi Murmu conveyed warm New Year greetings to citizens, expressing hope that the year ahead brings harmony, growth and fresh opportunities for the nation. In her message shared on social media, the President described the New Year as a moment of renewed optimism and collective energy, urging people to dedicate themselves to national development, social well-being and environmental protection. She said 2026 should inspire citizens to work together towards building a stronger and more developed India, while ensuring peace and prosperity for all.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi also greeted the nation on the occasion, wishing people good health, happiness and success in their endeavours. In his New Year message, the Prime Minister expressed confidence that 2026 would open new paths of achievement and bring positivity to society. He underlined the importance of peace, fulfilment and collective progress in the year ahead.

Defence Minister Rajnath Singh joined the leaders in extending greetings, calling 2026 a year of progress, unity and national pride. He said the New Year should strengthen India’s resolve towards nation-building, guided by civilisational values, self-reliance and innovation, while enhancing the country’s security and global standing.

Union Road Transport and Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari wished citizens peace, development and overall well-being in 2026. Meanwhile, Union Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan expressed hope that the New Year would bring prosperity, happiness and abundance to every household, especially for farmers and rural communities.
