Vice President M Venkaiah Naidu has urged parents to give every opportunity to nurture the talent of daughters, encourage them, empower them through education, and instill the tradition of ending discrimination against them at the family level itself.
In his message on National Girl Child Day, Mr Naidu said right from childhood, boys should be taught to respect girls. He said this is expected in a civilised society and only then will daughters feel safe.
He stressed that crimes against women should be unacceptable in any decent society, and strict action must be taken against such criminals.
