Muzaffarnagar: Aabad Shah, a young man from Kamalpur village, was arrested after his controversial WhatsApp status demanding the arrest of Sambhal Circle Officer (CO) Anuj Chaudhary went viral.
Aabad had posted an image of CO Chaudhary with the caption: “Bakra Eid comes only once a year. If someone feels that seeing meat and blood corrupts their faith, they should stay indoors.” He also used the hashtag #ArrestAnujChaudhary, triggering outrage.
Police swiftly detained Aabad and later released a video of him apologizing from custody. In the video, he states: “I apologize for my comment on the Circle Officer. This mistake will not happen again. I respect the police department. Please forgive me.”
