Rajput’s family arrived from Patna for last rites and police to record their statement within few days
Mumbai: A day after the actor Sushant Singh Rajput committed suicide at his Bandra residence in Mont Blanc apartment by hanging himself, the Mumbai Police has revealed on the actor’s mental health.
Reportedly Sushant had lost some good projects with renowned and famous production houses in Bollywood. The production house had contracted him for a few projects however later on some another actor was roped in the project. Meanwhile the said production house had ventured him in a new project which always remained as pilot and never took off. Leading to which Sushant had stopped attending parties with the group.
“Unable to handle the jolts given by the production house, he started fearing and going in isolation,” a close friend of Sushant told Police.
The police disclosed that Sushant was battling with depression from the last six months and his behaviour pattern had totally changed after the death of his former manager, Disha Salian. He was dependent emotionally on his 2 am friend Mahesh Shetty.
According to Mumbai Police Sushant had phoned Shetty and hence Police recorded Shetty’s statement .Apparently Shetty told police that Sushant had called but the call went unanswered. Mahesh Shetty is a television actor for over a decade. On Monday, one of the team among 3 investigating teams of Mumbai was mentally more deteriorated after death Disha. On June 8, Disha fell off a high rise building in Malad.
Meanwhile, as per the post-mortem report of Dr. R.N Cooper Hospital given to Mumbai Police suggested that the provisional cause of death of Sushant was asphyxia due to hanging. The actor’s last rites took place in the presence of his family in the crematorium at Vile Parle.
“For a time Sushant had totally stopped talking with his father K K Singh after rumours of his alleged link up with some Bengali actor. He had turned himself into silent mode. He was a very talkative person, but during this lockdown period he stopped interaction with many from his building. He kept a tab on the news on his former manager,” said a police official.
Furthermore, the actor’s sister Ritu and her husband had tried to reach out to her superstar brother through friends so as to convince him to take their father’s calls or to go and visit him in Patna. However all attempts failed to get Sushant close to father Singh. He started isolating himself more from his family.
Sushant received Filmfare Best actor award for his acting in biopic M. S. Dhoni – The Untold Story.
