Rooftop dining at Mostly Grills at The Orchid Hotel Mumbai with aircraft taking off from Mumbai Airport and dishes from the new menu

Few dining experiences in Mumbai combine food with theatre quite like a rooftop restaurant overlooking the airport runway. At Mostly Grills, the rooftop restaurant at The Orchid Hotel, diners can watch aircraft take off while the city lights stretch across the skyline.

Now the restaurant has introduced a new menu that blends Indian comfort food with global influences, offering dishes designed as much for flavour as for visual appeal.

The experience begins with a familiar yet refreshing combination — Nimbu Dhaniya Shorba paired with Kothimbir Vadi. The tangy soup and crispy Maharashtrian snack create a warm, comforting start to the meal.

One of the menu’s more playful creations is the Avocado Mexican Bhel Cone, which reimagines the traditional street snack by combining avocado with Mexican-inspired flavours. Served in a cone, it is clearly designed for both taste and presentation.

Seafood takes centre stage in several dishes. Dragon Chilli Prawns, tossed in a spicy Sichuan-style glaze and finished with spring onions, deliver bold flavours, while the Tandoori Pomfret offers a more classic coastal Indian taste.

For those who prefer European-style grills, the Grilled Salmon Steak arrives with mashed potatoes, seasonal vegetables, and lemon butter sauce — a familiar but elegant combination.

Vegetarian dishes are equally indulgent. Wild Mushroom Dimsum in garlic butter sauce offers rich, earthy flavours, while Cheesy Khakhra with Keema Ghotala combines crisp Gujarati khakhra with a spicy egg-based topping.

One of the menu’s more experimental dishes is “Fajita Meets Coast,” which pairs grilled quesadillas with South Indian sukha prawns, blending regional flavours in a playful way.

Must-Try Dishes

Dragon Chilli Prawns
Wild Mushroom Dimsum
Grilled Salmon Steak
Tandoori Pomfret
Rasmalai Tres Leches

Desserts continue the fusion theme. The Rasmalai Tres Leches reinterprets the Indian sweet through a Latin American milk cake format, while the Biscoff Cheesecake provides a rich, indulgent finish.

What Makes Mostly Grills Different?

While many restaurants in Mumbai compete on cuisine alone, Mostly Grills leans heavily on experience.

Located on the rooftop of The Orchid Hotel near Mumbai airport, the restaurant offers diners panoramic skyline views and the unusual sight of aircraft taking off in the distance — making it as much about the setting as the menu.

For diners looking for an evening that combines food, atmosphere and a dramatic city backdrop, the refreshed menu adds another reason to visit.
