More than 73 crore and 82 lakh doses of corona vaccine administered in the country so far

More than 73 crore 82 lakh vaccine doses of Covid-19 have been administered in the country so far under the Nationwide Vaccination Drive. Over 72 lakh 86 thousand vaccine doses were administered to eligible beneficiaries in the country during the last 24 hours. Health Ministry in a statement said that the country has reported over 28 thousand new cases of COVID-19 in the last 24 hours. The country’s active caseload is currently at 3 lakh 84 thousand and 921. The active cases constitute 1.16 per cent of the total reported cases so far.

The Ministry said, over 34 thousand people recovered from the infection during the last 24 hours taking the total recoveries to more than three crore 24 lakh. The recovery rate currently stands at 97.51 per cent.

The Ministry said, weekly positivity rate currently stands at 2.17 per cent which is less than three per cent for last 79 days. Daily positivity rate is at 1.87 per cent and it is less than 3 per cent for last 13 days. The Ministry said, testing capacity has been substantially ramped up and more than 54.18 crore tests for COVID-19 have been conducted so far. Yesterday, more than 15.30 lakh tests were conducted. 338 deaths were reported in the last 24 hours taking the death toll due to the pandemic to 4 lakh 42 thousand 655.
