“I Saw The Spirit Of Maharashtra, Rajasthan And UP Here”: PM Modi Addresses Indian Community In Netherlands

The Hague: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday praised the Indian diaspora in the Netherlands, saying he could feel the spirit of different Indian states reflected among members of the community gathered in The Hague.

Addressing a large gathering of Indians during his visit to the Netherlands, Modi highlighted the cultural diversity and unity of Indians living abroad while appreciating their contribution to strengthening India’s image globally.

“As I was entering here, I could see the spirit of the entire Maharashtra and Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, my beloved Rajasthan, and friends from UP and Assam among you all,” the Prime Minister said during his speech.

Modi’s remarks drew loud cheers from the audience as he acknowledged the presence of people from various Indian states and communities settled in the European country.

The Prime Minister also praised the Indian diaspora for preserving Indian traditions and values while contributing to the economic and social progress of the Netherlands.

His visit to the Netherlands is part of a broader diplomatic outreach focused on strengthening India’s strategic, economic and cultural engagement with European nations.

The Indian community event in The Hague witnessed participation from professionals, students, entrepreneurs and members of various cultural organisations.

Modi has frequently described the Indian diaspora as India’s “cultural ambassadors” and has often used overseas community events to highlight India’s global influence and cultural diversity.
