Mumbai: In a dramatic address at the ‘Navsankalp Shibir’ in Shirdi on Sunday, Maharashtra Minister Dhananjay Munde made startling revelations about his political journey and the growing tensions within his party, Nationalist Congress Party (NCP). Munde’s comments also included a strong warning to Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar regarding his potential alliance with the BJP.

Munde claimed that he had warned Ajit Pawar against aligning with the BJP back in November 2019, right after the early morning oath-taking ceremony. “I warned Ajit Pawar about the consequences of aligning with the BJP, and Sunil Tatkare was also present during this conversation,” Munde revealed. He alleged that this move marked the beginning of a plot to push Ajit Pawar out of the NCP, further fueling the tensions between the two political leaders.

Munde, known for his strong association with the NCP, expressed his unwavering support for Sharad Pawar. “Since I joined the NCP, I have always stood behind Pawar. There have been many attempts to portray him as a villain. Whenever anyone attacked him, we stood by him,” Munde emphasized. He claimed that while others were critical of Pawar, he faced the brunt of the consequences when the NCP’s leadership was challenged, especially after the 2019 political developments.

Munde also touched upon the ongoing controversy surrounding the murder of a sarpanch in Beed. He condemned the incident and called for the swift punishment of those responsible. “There are individuals who are targeting me in Beed, but the importance of social harmony in Marathwada cannot be overstated. This crime should not be overlooked,” he stated, highlighting the regional concerns that have been exacerbated by the tragic event.

Munde’s address also delved into the matter of his removal as Guardian Minister of Beed. He explained that he had personally requested both Ajit Pawar and Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis to allow Ajit Pawar to oversee Beed’s development. According to Munde, the region would witness significant progress under Pawar’s leadership, asserting that a strong developmental push was necessary for Beed’s future.

Munde’s statements have ignited political discussions, with many speculating on the future of the NCP in the wake of these revelations. As tensions rise between the factions, Maharashtra’s political landscape continues to evolve, with the dynamics between the NCP, BJP, and key leaders like Ajit Pawar and Dhananjay Munde becoming increasingly complex.
