Mahavikas Aghadi will win 42 Lok Sabha seats – Nana Patole

The State Congress is geared up for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections and the issues of seat sharing with allies, organisation preparation, issues of campaigning were discussed in the meeting of the state selection board. Discussions regarding seat allocation of the Mahavikas Aghadi are in the final stage. Shiv Sena, Nationalist Congress Party, Samajwadi Party, PWP, CPI-M, Vanchit Bahujan Aghadi are preparing to contest the election together. Maharashtra Pradesh Congress Committee President Nana Patole said that it will be a direct fight between the Bharatiya Janata Party and Mahavikas Aghadi in which MVA will win 42 Lok Sabha seats.

Speaking to the media at Tilak Bhavan after the State Selection Board meeting, Congress State President Nana Patole further said that in today’s meeting all issues were discussed for nearly 2.5 hours. Candidates will be allotted depending on the strength of the parties in the respective constituencies, the allotment of seats will be based on merit, there will be no differences of opinion. The environment in the country is favorable for the INDIA alliance and the winds of change are blowing. There is a lot of anger among the people against the Narendra Modi government of the BJP, which is anti-farmer, and has failed to control inflation and unemployment. People’s trust in the Congress party has increased. The Maha Vikas Aghadi is strong and Maharashtra itself will lay the foundation for the defeat of the Bharatiya Janata Party government at the Centre.

Speaking on the ongoing farmers’ agitation on the Delhi border, Nana Patole said that Narendra Modi’s dictatorial government is treating the farmers as enemies, terrorists and are firing indiscriminately at them. A young farmer was killed and three to four farmers were seriously injured in police firing on Delhi’s Khanauri border. The Prime Minister of the country insulted the farmers in Parliament by calling them Khalistani, Naxalites, agitators. The Congress party strongly condemns the anti-farmer, ruthless Modi government. Nana Patole also warned that the BJP government will have to face serious consequences.

The meeting of the state selection board of the Congress was concluded at Tilak Bhavan, Dadar in the presence of Maharashtra Congress in-charge Ramesh Chennithala and was presided over by state president Nana Patole. Central Selection Committee Chairman Madhusudan Mistry, Legislature Party Leader Balasaheb Thorat, Former Chief Minister Prithviraj Chavan, Opposition Leader Vijay Wadettiwar, Goa, Diu Daman incharge Manikrao Thackeray and members of the state selection board were present.
