Maharashtra’s Deputy CM Devendra Fadnavis: India Can Become 3rd Largest Economy By Creating Skilled Force

Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis and Guardian Minister Mangal Prabhat Lodha jointly flagged off the ‘Run for Skill’ Marathon at Anna Bhau Sathe Chowk in Nagpur on Sunday. This event, organized across 418 Industrial Training Institutes (ITIs) in the state, coincided with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s birthday and aimed to raise awareness about the importance of skill development among the youth.

During the event, Deputy Chief Minister Fadnavis expressed his optimism about India’s potential to become the world’s third-largest economy by harnessing the capabilities of a skilled workforce. He highlighted the state government’s strong commitment to skill training and development.

On the same day, Prime Minister Modi launched a new skill-based scheme called ‘PM Vishwakarma,’ which not only provides skill training but also extends financial assistance to traditional artisans and individuals. Fadnavis hailed this initiative as a significant step toward realizing the dream of a skilled India.

The ‘PM Run for Skill’ marathon witnessed enthusiastic participation from a substantial number of students. Guardian Minister Mangal Prabhat Lodha emphasized the readiness of the Skill Development Department to enhance ITIs to offer world-class opportunities for skill development. He stated, “Every stride taken in the direction of skill-based education contributes to the creation of a dynamic and skilled workforce.”

Lodha also had the honor of presenting awards to the winners of the marathon. Certificates and prizes were distributed to the first, second, and third-place finishers in both the men’s and women’s categories. In the men’s category, Vikas Bisne, Bharat Sahu, and Tejas Bankar secured the top three positions, while in the women’s category, Mona Somkuwar, Nikita Sahu, and Tripti Bavane claimed the first, second, and third places, respectively.

The event saw the presence of Additional Chief Secretary Ashish Kumar Singh, along with senior officials from the Department of Skill Development, Employment, Entrepreneurship, and Innovation. The occasion was further enriched by the participation of students from various ITIs, as well as the presence of notable figures in the field of skill development.
