The announcement, made late Thursday night, showcases the party’s commitment to fielding a diverse array of contenders, with seven individuals chosen from a pool of 57 candidates.

One of the most closely watched decisions revolves around the North Central Mumbai constituency, where speculation has been rife regarding the potential candidacy of prominent figures such as actor Raj Babbar and actress Swara Bhasker. The latter, in particular, has emerged as a focal point of discussion within the party, following her recent meeting with Maharashtra Congress in-charge Ramesh Chennithala in Delhi.

The significance of the North Central Mumbai seat cannot be understated, as it represents a crucial battleground in the electoral landscape. As the party deliberates on its nomination for this pivotal constituency, political observers eagerly await the final decision.

Swara Bhasker’s rendezvous with Ramesh Chennithala at the Congress headquarters has intensified speculation about her political ambitions. Known for her outspoken views on social media, Bhasker’s potential entry into electoral politics adds an intriguing dimension to the upcoming polls. With the decision on her candidature expected imminently, the political arena braces for further developments.

The party’s candidate lineup for other constituencies reflects a strategic blend of experience and fresh faces. Shahu Chhatrapati Maharaj, a direct descendant of Chhatrapati Shahu Maharaj, will carry the Congress banner in the Kolhapur Lok Sabha seat, while Adv Goval Padvi, son of former Maharashtra minister K C Padvi, gears up for a contest in Nandurbar (ST).

In Amaravati (SC), incumbent Congress MLA Balwant Wankhede seeks to extend his political influence by vying for the Lok Sabha seat, underscoring the party’s commitment to fielding proven leaders. Similarly, former MLA Vasant Chavan will mount a challenge in the Nanded constituency, aiming to wrest control from the incumbent BJP MP Prataprao Chikhlikar.

Adding to the electoral mix is Dr. Shivaji Kalge, a respected medical professional from Latur, who emerges as the Congress contender for the Latur (SC) seat. His candidacy symbolizes the party’s emphasis on nominating candidates with strong community ties and a track record of service.

As the electoral battleground in Maharashtra takes shape, the Congress party’s candidate selection sets the stage for a spirited contest in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections. With seasoned politicians and new entrants alike vying for supremacy, the political landscape promises to be dynamic and closely contested.
