Lohri Celebrated with Traditional Fervour at Ramgarh, Bainglar and Chamliyal

RAMGARH: The festival of Lohri was celebrated with great enthusiasm and traditional fervour at various locations in Ramgarh, Bainglar and Chamliyal, in collaboration with 125 Battalion BSF and 101 Battalion BSF. The celebrations reflected the spirit of unity, cultural heritage and brotherhood, particularly in the border areas.

On the occasion, Dr. Devinder Kumar Manyal, Hon’ble MLA Ramgarh and former Minister for Health and Medical Education, Jammu & Kashmir, extended warm Lohri greetings to the people and BSF personnel. Addressing the gathering, Dr. Manyal said that Lohri symbolises prosperity, hope and collective harmony, and such celebrations help strengthen the bond between civilians and security forces stationed in border regions.

He lauded the BSF jawans for their unwavering dedication in safeguarding the nation while also actively participating in social and cultural activities with the local population.

“Celebrating festivals together sends a strong message of unity, peace and mutual respect, and helps preserve the rich cultural traditions of the region,” Dr. Manyal added.

Those present on the occasion included DDC Rajpura, District President Asha Rani, Assistant Commandant Surjeet Singh, Assistant Commandant Bhupinder Kumar, Retd. Col. Som Nath, District General Secretary Amit Dubey, Rakesh Singh, Harvinder Singh, President OBC Morcha, Narinder Singh Jamwal, President Bainglar, Asha Rani, President Rajpura, Nancy Choudhary, President Ramgarh and Bika Sharma along with party workers, BSF officers and jawans, and a large number of local residents.

Cultural Celebrations

The event was marked by traditional Lohri rituals, bonfire celebrations, and warm interaction between public representatives, BSF personnel and villagers. The festivities concluded on a positive note, reaffirming the collective resolve to maintain peace, harmony and cultural unity in the border belt of Ramgarh.
