Kochi – The Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) adopts different roles in different states based on the prevailing political situation, stated the party’s National Working President, Praful Patel. He explained that in Maharashtra, NCP is part of the NDA alliance, while in Nagaland and Arunachal Pradesh, the party has elected representatives. In Delhi, the party contested nearly 30 seats against the BJP. In Kerala, NCP has always upheld certain core values and continues to do so. At present, the party is not aligned with any alliance and is operating independently. Any future decision regarding alliances will be taken at the state level, Patel informed the media.
The NCP’s state convention was held today at Rajendra Maidan in Ernakulam. The convention focused on the political landscape of the state, the party’s future direction, and key policy matters. The event was attended by National Working President Praful Patel, National General Secretary and spokesperson Brijmohan Srivastava, and State President N.A. Mohammed Kutty.
The party’s current priority is to strengthen its position for the upcoming assembly and local body elections. Praful Patel expressed confidence that this convention, under the leadership of State President P.C. Chacko, would provide new momentum to the party.
During the convention, senior party leaders engaged in discussions and formulated strategic plans regarding future policies and political strategies.
As part of the preparations for this convention, a public outreach tour was conducted from February 11 to 17, covering areas from Kasaragod to Thiruvananthapuram. This initiative aimed to connect with local citizens and raise awareness about the party’s ideology and functioning.
