Former England cricket captain Kevin Pietersen has launched a scathing attack on London Mayor Sadiq Khan following a horrifying stabbing incident on a train between Shortlands and Beckenham on Thursday, March 28.

The incident, captured in a viral video on social media, shows a person repeatedly stabbing and attacking another individual on a moving train at Beckenham Junction. Reports indicate that the victim sustained serious injuries after being stabbed by two assailants who boarded the train at Shortlands Railway Station. The victim was swiftly rushed to the hospital with life-threatening wounds.

Kevin Pietersen shared the video of the disturbing incident on social media platform X handle (formerly Twitter), expressing outrage at the deteriorating safety situation in London. He lamented that the city, once regarded as amazing, has now become a disgraceful place where residents fear for their safety and possessions.

In his tweet directed at Sadiq Khan, Pietersen questioned the Mayor’s leadership, highlighting concerns about rising crime rates and violence plaguing the city. He criticized the inability to wear valuable items, carry phones openly, or even walk without the fear of robbery or assault.

Pietersen’s criticism of Khan extended further as he accused the Mayor of contributing to the city’s decline through his policies. He pointed to Khan’s tenure coinciding with an increase in crime rates, particularly violent offenses and knife crimes.

Sadiq Khan, a British politician of Sunni Islam descent, has served as Mayor of London since May 2016, following a successful career as a Member of Parliament representing the Tooting constituency. Khan’s policies and approach to governance, particularly regarding immigration and community engagement, have drawn both praise and criticism.

Critics have accused Khan of prioritizing immigrant communities, particularly those from Islamic backgrounds, and failing to address the surge in violent crimes during his tenure. Despite efforts such as organizing interfaith iftar events and promoting community cohesion, Khan’s administration has faced scrutiny over its handling of crime and safety in the capital.

Under Khan’s leadership, London has witnessed a worrying rise in knife crimes, murders, and antisemitic hate crimes, prompting widespread concern and calls for action to address the city’s security challenges.
