Janata Dal (United)’s MLA Sudhanshu Shekhar has stirred controversy by filing an FIR alleging that he was offered a staggering sum of Rs 5 crores to defect to the RJD-led ‘Mahagathbandhan’ ahead of a crucial trust vote. Shekhar’s startling claims have sent shockwaves through the political landscape of Bihar, casting a shadow over the integrity of the state’s governance.
“I have given all the details in the FIR. I am not doing all this under any pressure. I was offered Rs 5 crores and a minister’s post in the cabinet. I received several internet calls but I didn’t entertain them,” stated Shekhar, shedding light on the alleged attempt to sway his allegiance.
