In a bold diplomatic push following the recent terror attack in Pahalgam, India has launched an international outreach campaign to expose Pakistan’s continued patronage of cross-border terrorism. As part of this initiative, seven multi-party delegations are being dispatched to key global capitals.

On Thursday, May 22, the first two delegations reached the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and Japan. The delegations briefed top officials on the persistent threats emanating from Pakistani soil and sought international solidarity in combating terrorism, according to government sources.

A key delegation to the UAE was led by Shiv Sena MP Dr. Shrikant Shinde and included a cross-party group of Indian parliamentarians — Bansuri Swaraj and Atul Garg (BJP), ET Mohammed Basheer (IUML), Sasmit Patra (BJD), SS Ahluwalia (BJP), and Rajya Sabha member Manan Kumar Mishra. The inclusion of MPs from across the political spectrum signaled a rare show of unity in India’s foreign policy efforts.

The Indian delegation held a series of high-level meetings in Abu Dhabi, including with Sheikh Nahayan Mabarak Al Nahyan, UAE’s Minister of Tolerance and Coexistence, and HE Dr. Jamal Mohammed Obaid Al Kaabi, Director General of the National Media Office.

During these interactions, UAE officials reportedly reaffirmed their commitment to fighting terrorism, stating, “Islam does not teach the killing of innocent civilians,” as quoted by news agency. This strong moral endorsement from a key Gulf partner is seen as a significant boost to India’s international campaign.

The delegation also engaged with Emirati parliamentary representatives to discuss avenues for closer legislative cooperation on security and counter-terrorism. Similar meetings are expected to follow in Tokyo, where another Indian team is currently stationed.

This international outreach comes in the wake of a deadly terrorist ambush in Pahalgam that shook the nation and intensified scrutiny on Pakistan’s role in sponsoring terrorism in the region.
