BJP leader Chitra Wagh targeted Sena over penguin name

Mumbai: Targeting Environment minister Aaditya Thackeray for his ‘so called’ Marathi love, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Chitra Wagh on Wednesday asked ruling Shiv Sena as well Aaditya that are they really love Marathi language and whether they want Marathi name boards on shops and establishments when the Yuva Sena chief suggested English names to all penguins kept in Rani cha baug?

BJP leader Chitra Wagh took on to Twitter where she posted one cartoon which talks about the Marathi board issue and another part of this cartoon is talking about a new baby penguin who was named ‘Oscar’.

Chitra Wagh hits out at Shiv Sena leader saying “Shiv Sena was aggressive over the issue of Marathi boards but when it comes to name baby penguin they have selected name only which is ‘Oscar’.

BJP leader Chitra Wagh targets the Shiv Sena party over the issue of Marathi name boards on all shops. Recently Maharashtra government has amended its earlier decision of having Marathi name boards on shops and made it compulsory for all shops to have Marathi Board in equal font.

Shiv Sena party during the last government had pressed for this rule but its effective implementation was not happening and according to earlier rule, small shops were not covered under this rule. Hence this time state government has covered them all.

Retail Traders association has shown their reservation against this rule and once it becomes act they are planning to move to court against this.

It was a dream project of Sena leader Aaditya Thackeray to get penguins in the Mumbai zoo. When they were brought to Mumbai, Sena received a lot of flake from the opposition over the cost of this project.
