Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian has said the ongoing war in West Asia can end only if Iran’s rights are recognised and strong international guarantees are put in place to prevent future attacks.

Speaking after holding discussions with the presidents of Russia and Pakistan, Pezeshkian stressed that Iran remains committed to peace and stability in the region. However, he said the conflict that began with what he described as aggression by the Israel and the United States can only end if Iran’s “indisputable rights” are accepted.

The Iranian president also demanded that reparations be paid for damages caused during the conflict and called for firm international commitments to prevent any future military actions against Iran.

Quoting Mojtaba Khaledi, Iranian media claimed that more than 19,000 non-military buildings had been attacked during the war. Out of these, about 16,291 were said to be residential units.

IRGC Announces 40th Wave of Retaliatory Strikes

Meanwhile, Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps announced that it had launched the 40th phase of its retaliatory campaign, known as Operation True Promise 4.

According to the IRGC, the latest phase involved launching several types of ballistic missiles, including Qadr, Emad, Kheibar Shekan and Fattah missiles, against what it described as hostile targets in the region.

The group also said that the strikes were carried out in coordination with fighters from Hezbollah.

Claims of Attacks on US Bases

The IRGC further claimed that the latest wave of its counteroffensive targeted military facilities linked to the United States, including bases at Al‑Azraq Air Base and Al‑Kharj.

In its statement, the IRGC said missile launches from Iran toward Israel had increased significantly in the past 24 hours, adding that casualties on the Israeli side were also rising.

Iranian officials also blamed the escalation of the war on policies pursued by Donald Trump and Benjamin Netanyahu.

The war in West Asia has now entered its 13th day, with both sides continuing military operations and no immediate signs of a ceasefire.

The escalating confrontation has raised global concerns about a wider regional conflict, as missile attacks, air strikes and retaliatory operations continue across several countries in the region.
