Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis Meets Several Companies

Tata Group to Invest ₹30,000 Crore

Davos: On the first day of the World Economic Forum in Davos, Maharashtra achieved a milestone by signing investment agreements worth ₹6,25,457 crore in the presence of Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis. The signing of such a significant amount in a single day is a record-breaking achievement. Even larger investments are expected on the second day.

Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis met with the heads of several companies yesterday, apart from signing Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs), and invited them to invest in Maharashtra. He also met Tata Group Chairman N. Chandrasekaran, who confirmed the group’s plans to invest ₹30,000 crore in the state.

Fadnavis held discussions with Carlsberg Group CEO Jacob Aarup-Andersen, who expressed interest in investing in Maharashtra. The Chief Minister assured the group of full support.
In the retail sector, Fadnavis met M.A. Yusuff Ali, Managing Director of the Lulu Group, who expressed interest in investing in Nagpur and expanding operations in Maharashtra.

He also met Sumant Sinha, Chairman and CEO of ReNew Power, to discuss a 15,000 MW pipeline and wind energy project in Beed district.

The Chief Minister engaged with Deepak Sharma, Managing Director and CEO of Schneider Electric India, to discuss empowering state ITIs with support from the World Bank, leveraging AI in the energy sector, and the company’s expansion plans in Ahilyanagar and Nashik.

Additionally, Fadnavis met Ling Hai, President of Mastercard APAC, and Michael Gelchie, CEO of Louis Dreyfus, to discuss opportunities in agriculture, food processing, international shipping, and financial sectors. Discussions focused on enhancing cooperation in agriculture.

Fadnavis also met Ravi Kumar S., CEO of Cognizant, to explore further investments and opportunities in Maharashtra.

This landmark achievement at Davos marks a significant step in driving Maharashtra’s growth and development while securing global investments in key sectors.
