Mumbai: In the wake of India’s successful Operation Sindoor, Shiv Sena (UBT) MP Sanjay Raut praised the Indian Army’s swift and targeted response to cross-border terrorism. Speaking to the media, Raut emphasized that the Indian Army’s action against terrorist camps in Pakistan was a matter of national pride, underscoring the professionalism and precision with which the operation was carried out.
Raut said, “The Indian army’s action against the terrorists in Pakistan is a matter of pride. The Indian army is a professional army, and it has a reputation for not attacking anyone without a reason, unlike Pakistan. You have killed 26 innocent civilians of ours, and still, we attacked and destroyed only terrorist camps, avoiding any civilian or military sites.”
He further stated, “We have the right to protect ourselves, and our army has done that.”
Raut’s comments came as the Indian government called for an all-party meeting to discuss the aftermath of Operation Sindoor, which targeted terrorist infrastructure in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK) in response to the Pahalgam terror attack that killed 26 people, including civilians and a Nepali citizen.
Reflecting on the political response, Raut mentioned the missed opportunity to attend an earlier meeting, which had been convened hastily in the wake of the Pahalgam attack. He shared, “When the Pahalgam attack took place, the meeting was called in a hurry, and hence we didn’t attend the meeting. We wanted the action to be taken within 24 hours, and then we would have joined the meeting.”
